Arbitron and KidCARE TV Sign Agreement to Measure Effectiveness of Digital Screens in Pediatrician’s Offices
NEW YORK, August 11, 2008- Arbitron Inc. (NYSE: ARB) today announced that KidCARE TV, producers of place-based digital video education programs in doctors’ offices, has signed a contract for Arbitron Custom services to measure how pediatrician office visitors and employees experience the network.
Arbitron will conduct custom surveys of patients and visitors exposed to KidCARE TV about their advertising recall, awareness of the media, acceptance of the content and overall experience.
“Out-of-Home Digital networks are one of the fastest growing media segments,” said Carol Hanley, senior vice president of Sales, Arbitron Inc. “By better understanding audiences, KidCARE TV will be better able to compete with traditional media. Developing metrics on engagement and consumer experience will provide advertisers with audience delivery validation for improved return on investment.”
KidCARE TV provides programming in waiting rooms to provide an additional resource for educating parents on specific child-related illnesses and awareness of preventative health care measures.

KidCARE TV is an advertiser supported network that targets the 60,000 pediatrician members of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The AAP reports an average of 26.5 minutes waiting time to see a pediatrician. These waiting room/exam rooms provide “The Captive Audience,” women age +25-34 / 25-54 with children 1 week to 16 years of age.
